Who Am I?

Hello, I’m Gaylene—a qualified Interior Designer with a Diploma in Interior Technologies and nine years of experience in Drafting and Building Design. Through Gaylene Drew Designs (GDD), I help homeowners take on renovations and new builds with confidence, creating spaces that bring both function and comfort to everyday life.

My Journey
My passion for design started with a love for creativity and structure. Although I initially dreamed of a career in fashion design, my creative focus shifted to interiors and architecture, where I discovered the art of designing spaces that truly fit people’s lives. After completing my diploma, life took my husband and me to Gladstone, Central Queensland, where I spent nine valuable years in drafting and building design. During this time, I developed my skills in floor plan development, spatial planning, and detailed documentation—an experience that shaped my practical approach to design.

My Approach
At GDD, I combine technical expertise with a deep understanding of what makes a home feel “just right.” As a wife and mother of two, I know firsthand the joys and challenges of a busy family life, and I bring this empathy into my work. I understand that building or renovating can feel daunting, and I’m here to simplify the process, providing both design insight and practical support so you feel confident every step of the way.

Why Work With Me?
Working with GDD means having a designer who’s fully committed to your project and understands the realities of family life. I focus on creating spaces that enhance your daily routine, with layouts and finishes tailored to your style and needs. With my background in both drafting and interior design, I offer a seamless blend of creative vision and functional planning, ensuring that your space is not only beautiful but practical.

If you’re ready to start the journey toward a home that fits your lifestyle, I’d love to connect. Let’s see if we’re the right fit—contact me today!
